Subject: Important Announcement Regarding the Closure of Brightview Preparatory Academy at the End of the Academic Year

Dear Parents and Guardians of Brightview Preparatory Academy Students,

This letter is to inform you of a difficult decision made by the Governing Board of Brightview Preparatory Academy. After careful consideration, the Board has voted to voluntarily terminate the school's charter, and Brightview Preparatory Academy will cease operations at the end of the current academic year.

This decision was made in accordance with Florida Statute §1002.33(7)(e). We want to assure you that we are committed to fully complying with all requirements outlined by the Florida Department of Education and Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) to ensure a smooth and orderly closure.

Our priority now is to support our students and families during this transition. We understand that this news may raise questions, and we want to provide you with some important information:

● Effective Closure Date: The school will close at the end of the current academic year.
● Reason for Closure: The Governing Board has made the decision to voluntarily terminate the charter.
● Re-enrollment Options: Your child is entitled to enroll in another public school without regard to normal deadlines, as outlined in Florida Statute §1002.33(8)(f). We will be working closely with M-DCPS to provide you with information and resources to assist you in finding a new school for your child. We anticipate that M-DCPS will be hosting or publicizing transition fairs, and we will share that information with you as soon as it
becomes available.
● Student Records: We will ensure the timely and secure transfer of all student records to M-DCPS, as required.
